Hajia Ruhia Abdulai’s academic achievements and participation in various rural planning and development processes have enhanced her understanding and control of financial issues in development management.
By virtue of her engagements, she has developed and exhibited strong leadership and management skills which has led her to be the Senior Assistant Registrar, Academics Affairs in the University for Development Studies (UDS).
Hajia Ruhia Abdulai is the Chairperson of UDS Staff Co-operative Credit Union. She also doubles as the Chapter Chairperson for the Northern Chapter of the Ghana Cooperative Credit Unions Association (CUA), as well as serves on the National Board as the Assistant National Treasurer.
Hajia Ruhia Abdulai obtained an MBA (Finance) degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in August 2009. She also worked at FOSDA (Foundation for Security and Development in Africa) as a Project Manager in all 3 Northern Regions in Ghana in 2010-2011.
She worked in Allied Wealth as Credit Portfolio Analyst from 2006 to 2009 with responsibilities comprising field visits, clients’ education, preparation and compilation of company reports, and analysis of company credit portfolio from various branches, monitoring of portfolio performance under the various credit officers’ control and allied schedules.
Hajia Ruhia Abdulai also attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies in April 2005.
She was the District Coordinator for the Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD), an international NGO operating in the Northern Ghana from 2005-2006.
Her hobbies are listening to music, reading novels, watching movies as well as supporting women groups in her community.
Hajia Ruhia Abdulai is married with four (4) girls and a boy.
